San Antonio & side trip to Corpus Christi, Texas

We were hoping to spend more time with Mickeal, but he had to leave so fast that we had a day and a half to play. Thursday afternoon we went downtown San Antonio and visited the Alamo and the riverwalk which is very long. On Friday we drove to Corpus Christi about 2 1/2 hours south on the Gulf of Mexico. While there we went to the USS Lexington Aircraft carrier and the beach. It was very, very windy.

Susan and I flew to San Antonio Wed for Mickeal's Combat Medic Graduation. He started with a class of around 250, ended with 194 and Mickeal was 3rd in the class scholastically. He left to go to Airborne training at Ft. Benning 2 hours after graduation. We stayed on for another day.

Car Show

Saturday was the annual College Car Show. The College has now again changed its name from Utah Valley State College to Utah Valley University. So I guess we have to use UVU. I was going to take the 59 Ford, but it just wasn't running good enough so I just rode my Victory over and parked next to a friend with his Mustang. We finally got a bit of summer.

On my way out of town

When I flew from Warri to Lagos, I had to stay the night to catch my plane early the next morning. My company wanted me to go by a new contract for them and see if I could give them some advise on things. The contract is for the National Electric Company, which is way unreliable providing services by the way. They own these 4 aircraft but on is a junker and one is missing a lot of parts so they try to keep the other 2 flyable. But they only use one at a time. When I stopped by they only had 2 local mechanics but were expecting a German mechanic any day. No hanger yet but they are supposedly building one.
