2 days to go

The first photo is Ike and Victor. Victor is a local training mechanic that was my "student" for the past 3 weeks. He has been through mechanic school payed for by Bristow Helicopters as part of the agreement with Shell Oil and the Nigerian Goverment to eventually employ mostly locals ( I don't think its going to happen soo ), but hasn't finished the goverment testing. Ike's real name in Juanito Isreal but he goes by Ike. He is Philipino and has been working on helicopters since the 60s. His first job out of mechanic school was to go to Thailand and work for Air America during the Viet Nam war. Air America was the so-called civilian air force run by the CIA. He said it was pretty crazy back then. The next photo is a couple more Philipino guys, Erick and Danny. Danny is an avionics guy and Erick is a mechanic. I leave for Lagos tomorrow, then stay overnight and catch my flight to Atlanta the next day.

Storemen

These two guys are called storemen or in the states we would say partsmen. The guy on the left is Lawrence and on the right is Jacob. And I'm in the Smurf blue work uniform.

Welcome home

Mickeal had just got home on leave, Nick took this picture with his cell phone ( thats a whole other story) sent it to Susan's email, I see it within minutes half way around the world and post it here on the internet for the world to see. Wow. We do live in some amazing times, but to the kids its just life moving forward at a pace that they are used to.

Co-Worker

Happy 4th of July to everyone.
This is Theo Adams. He is another mechanic, but from the country of South Africa. He just left a couple days early for his break time because his wife is expecting their first child any day now.
