Nigerian Sunset

The end of the rainy season, means clouds after the rain and beautiful sunsets . We have 2 work shifts here, either go to work in the dark or come home from work in the dark. So close to the equator means the day/night difference isn't like Utah where often it was both.

Flying Around

We had a flight test of an aircraft yesterday, so I went along for a ride. Mainly we just flew a few circles around the base. The top picture shows our base with a big refinery in the back ground. The middle picture has our base with the 2 sides of waterway and the last shows the hanger and small runway.

VW Bug Customizing

A local guy who used to be a company driver until recently, came in to work to show us how he had built up a mid 70's Vw Bug. I had taken a before picture last year. He has always been working on this car and I had no idea he was going to change it so much. It was one of the older cars around. It wasn't a convertable, he had cut the top off previously. With as much rain as it gets here a top is a must.

I'm not sure if it's my taste in customizing, but hey, everyone likes to get a look now and then.

Old and The New

I've been back to work for 2 weeks now and have had to help push a few helicopters in and out of the hanger. Tractors are handy when wanting to move around heavy things, like helicopters. The little old one is broke down more than its working, so someone finally got us a new, used one. Its probably difficult and expensive to find good tractors here. The old one looked like an old Ford but I dont know for sure, the new one is a Massey Ferguson from England. Its double the size and way more power than we need, so maybe it will last.
