What about this switch?

One of our electricians was flipping switches without thinking real hard and set off the emergency floats. OOPS..... They will keep the aircraft from sinking, but you will still get wet.

These things inflate with 2 high pressure helium bottles in something around 1 second. The floats themselves can be deflated and repacked, but the bottles have to be removed and sent to France for refilling and certification. (That was my job for the morning)

Tank and sending unit

For this rotation we have been to St George twice and doing some work on the cars. This week it was a new gas tank and sending unit on the Camaro. The old tank had too many holes in the bottom, the picture shows just a few that had a poor repair over them. I had washed that old tank before this picture even. The sending unit was a bit clogged and the float was shot.

These holes were done from the outside by it appears scrapping the tank on objects during driving. The inside had almost no rust.

Where is this?

If you drive I15 freeway, you have seen this but at 75 miles per hour the cars go by way too fast. I have been meaning to slow down and stop along the freeway for a picture. Ya I know its not allowed to do.

This is a good mix of 40s, 50s and 60s cars I believe.

This collection is located about 8 miles south of Nephi, along the northbound lane.
