Al Asad Hanger

A flashback picture. This was the work in progress of the roof repair on my hanger in Al Asad Iraq. The original bomb holes weren't this big, but panels that had shapnel holes and bent ones were also removed. The dust falling down is cement dust that was from the blast, very large chunks of the floor were rolled off earlier. This was around The first of March in 2004.
The Iraqi repair crew actually lived in the hanger for the work week with little or no security. That wouldn't happen here or there now days.

F15 Afterburners

I borrowed this F15 picture, it has just taken off, the nose gear is going forward and up and the afterburners can be seen. It is really impressive at night.

F15 on the runway

Since the F15s are kept on the opposite side of the runway, its hard to get a good picture of one. Day or night, we can tell when a F15 is taking off, they are easily the loudest aircraft here, I think because it has afterburners.

Old Sign

This is a hold-over sign still on the hanger wall in a couple spots. Its written in Russian as well as Arabic, meaning "NO SMOKING". There aren't too many things around that can be pointed out as something to do with the Russian Occupation.

The crew.

From left to right, Paul King, David Tillmon, Brian Parker, Jimmy Prater, Bob True, Ishmeal Devalle, Me, Todd King and Mike Miranda.

Jimmy has been on the crew for about 2 months and he is transfering to Kuwait and wanted a crew picture.

A10s lined up.

I borrowed this picture. It has the A10s lined up in the morning sunrise. The A10s are gone from Bagram for now, the Air Force has replaced them for a rotation with F15s. I don't have a picture yet. Much noisier but faster.
